New from Borrego Fest

Post by salad_man » Sun Oct 25, 2009 10:55 pm

Hello everyone, I met everybody out at Borrego Fest, at least the ones that went on the truck haven run :D. Thanks to Ollie and JJ for leading the truck haven run on Saturday, it was great. I did not spend much time in camp but the raffle was great and the pot luck seemed like a huge success! Oh and my name is Robert, or Bert for short, I had the stock white 4runner :D

Welcome to the site, Bert! Glad you were able to make it out for BorregoFest. Hope those Truckhaven hills went easy on your 4runner.

The 4Runner did great. Never got on the end of a strap, only had to bypass one hill. Now he has a custom exhaust pipe. ;) Nice meeting Robert and everyone.

Glad to have met you Robert. I was very impressed with how you handled that 4Runner in Truckhaven. After seeing you tackle the rest of it, I truly wonder if you even need to bypass that first hill. :D

Thanks for the welcome, and it was great meeting you guys also. Yea custom exhaust was the only damage, ha ha, and that first hill  I could have done it... ha ha

I see you live up in Rancho Cucamonga. You'll have to let me know when Cucamonga Big Tree Trail reopens. That is if you know of it. (Off Skyline Dr a little north of the 210) Last time I was up there I ran into a locked gate. I guess it was closed due to fire damage awhile back. Thanks.

Hi Bert! You guys were awesome. It was my pleasure hanging out with you and your friends. The dogs all got along great too! Did Brogan take a photo of me going down that very steep cliff? Hope to see you all on another run sometime.

Oh I know of it, it has been closed ever since... the trail that leads right past the gate does not go through anymore... wash out... I had heard that they have fixed a portion of it and open it from time to time, but I have not seen it... That use to be a great camping area...
