Re: 2009 BorregoFest Julian Mine Tour Report
This was wonderful, starting to explore mines/caves has been on our list for a while now and this trip just threw fuel on that fire. I'd say my only grumble about this run was only having one day to explore mines. I can't wait for the next opportunity to get out and see some more. Dave's spotting was excellent over the rocks, and thanks to his help nothing but tire touched the ground (despite my truck being stock).
I'm working on uploading pics now. Just to double-check, the mines we visited were:
1. Ranchita Mine @ Right Fender Ranch
2. Golden Chariot?
3. Ready Relief?

Chazz:
Thanks for the kind remarks. I, too am working on getting some photos up loaded. The mines were: 1)Ranchita, 2) Golden Sugar, and 3) Ready Relief. We passed the Golden Chariot, but we were running out of time. The other mine we visited has no name that I am aware of.
Next year I will add some different mines to the trip.

...and a video from Ready Relief: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xgzP0fWEW4
I wish the "steady" worked better in video, but it is a still camera after all. For the folks that weren't there, it was about 15 minutes to walk to the back of the mine (where the bat was) at that pace.

Chazz:
That video was fabulous and Dani's reaction to the bat was priceless. Your photos are excellent, as well. Thanks for keeping such a great account of the trip.
It was great to have you both join us on this run.
By the way, please tell Dani that she can fire up the bakery any time she wants on our next run. Scones -- mmmmmmmm.

Chazz,
Thanks so much for the wonderful pics and video. Felt like I was there even tho the heart attack kept me home. I really appreciate your effort in uploading all this.
