Yep, and she's using the Par Electronics End-Fedz antenna. Can't recommend them enough. Before the bigger vertical went up here at home, I used both the EF-20H and EF-40. In fact, the 40 is still up and I use it often. They work as well as any full-sized 1/2 wave dipole I've tried in the past and being end fed they are way more convenient.....Oh, and they're cheap.
edit: BTW, for anyone thinking of a "portable" HF antenna. This is a great choice IF you have something to hang them on. They blow away any gadget antennas (Buddipole, hamstick dipole, TW2010, etc.). Nothing beats a fully resonant antenna....no traps, no coils = no loss.

I may have to check out some of those antennas for an upcoming Yosemite Valley camping trip during Easter 2010. I want something a little more low profile than the Buddipole.

Yep, the Buddipole is a great all-around multiband antenna. I use a TW2010 primarily because I'll sometimes run an amp when remote. Both are great when there's nothing taller than a pucker bush to string up an antenna. Being closer to resonance, the End-Fedz hear so much better, but they won't take as much power. With the abundance of trees in the Valley, you'd be set. You're probably gonna' want to flat-top or slope it though. Setting it up vertical as she did in the video will give a lower AOR and may hit a brick (granite) wall.Fetus wrote:I may have to check out some of those antennas for an upcoming Yosemite Valley camping trip during Easter 2010. You'll need to get an order in early though, as Dale only makes these in batches between G-jobs.
