Rescue Tape

In preparing my HF radio for field use, I needed something to weather-proof some terminals and the RF choke. I noticed a recommendation by Alan Applegate, http://www.k0bg.com/, of a product called Rescue Tape. No one seemed to carry the product at any of my favorite hardware stores and I just ended up buying it from the company, http://www.rescuetape.com/. What a terrific product. It is self bonding, very durable and no residue if it needs to be removed. Great waterproofing, too.

From now on, it will be a permanent piece of equipment in the vehicle tool bag.

I keep Rescue Tape in my vehicle tool box all the time - it's very versatile, very effective, and very easy to use...

Everyone should have some on board...

similar product we use here at my work, ours is 3m product (aviation) silicone self-fusing

I have some of this too. I use this stuff too. They actually sell a variation of it at the Candy Store (HRO). I use it on all my outdoor coax connections. Very good stuff to have around.

I carry severl rolls in my vehicle. I used it on the Rubicon to repair a split on a lower radiator hose. It worked so well we drove all the way home too. I also used it on a transmission cooling line that was rubbed thru by of all things the hood latch. It is expensive but worth having a roll or two.
