New Member from the North

Post by charlie56 » Sat Dec 19, 2009 8:07 pm

Checking in from Northern California, however we tend to spend most of our outdoor adventures in South.
Our vehicle is a 2008 Sportsmobile.
We enjoy remote camping, hiking, rock hounding, photography and a pair of Australian Shepherds

The Sportsmobile is an awesome vehicle for expedition trips - love the pop-top.

So far our favorite area is Death Valley. Lots of remote canyons to camp and explore. Tops on the list is the Striped Butte area over Mengal Pass.
Have made three trips into Mojave NP and want to go back.
Just returned from Anza. The Sportsmobile made it down the Diablo Drop-off.

Welcome to OAUSA! Glad you got to do some exploring in our neck of the woods. Anza~Borrego has alot to offer. I have yet to explore Death Valley myself. Hope to get out there before summer rolls around.

So where abouts Northern California are you from? I have family in Lake Tahoe and Grass Valley. Love the wheelin' up there.

Charlie:

Welcome aboard. Your Sportsmobile is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, especially with family. My mechanics, in Lawndale, also service Sportsmobiles and I get a chance to see them up close every now and then. Very impressive.

We need some pics and some details.

Glad to have you join us!

We are located in Santa Rosa, about an hour north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Here is a link to our website (not updated in a while) that gives you an idea of where we go. (Some vehicle shots are peppered throughout.) http://web.mac.com/charliesikes/CD_WEBSITE/Home.html
If anyone is traveling up in this area I would be happy to offer recommendations on places to go.
