Here I was thinking my internets would fail (Echolink)...
I had EchoLink up and running, but no microphone, on my computer not long ago. I'm on a different computer now (one with the all-important microphone) and can't seem to find the Keller Peak repeater on EchoLink. I'm definitely online and can see all manner of other things... am I missing something?

I just checked my Echo link - Keller Echo link is down. Dave will be posting more info.
See you on the Trail!

Ah, bummer. I will stop troubleshooting my setup then.

You may be OK. The Keller Peak is covered with many feet of the white stuff. The power is out and the electrical company has no idea when they can fix it. All the roads that the repair truck would use are closed. This storm isn't even over and there is another one on the way next week.
As a result they have shut down almost every non essential function and are operating on 1 or 2 watts output. I believe that echolink was also turned off. You may not see it for some time.

Re: Here I was thinking my internets would fail (Echolink)...
I had a hunch something storm-related was afoot. I was able to make it to the top of that mountain I mentioned this morning (Copper Mountain outside Joshua Tree), but was surprised that I did not even hear garbled chatter. Running on emergency power would certainly explain that.
Seems fitting, having a net about emergency comms... over emergency comms.
