Craig - Seems like it took about 2-3 weeks for them to process my request. It definitely took longer than getting the randomly generated call sign following my test.

ok - I got it - the net controller will have you on the roll call this Thursday. How have you been listening? Do you have a radio?
See you on the Trail!

I've been listening on a Yaesu VX-170 HT. I don't think I'll be able to hit the repeater with it, but I'm going to try setting up Echolink on my PC.

You're in the IT field. The set-up should be a no-brainer for you. :D

I got Echolink up and running. It worked great once I figured out that I have to go to sound options in control panel and raise my mic level under the recording section.
BTW, I was actually able to hit the Keller Peak Repeater with my Yaesu VX-170 HT hooked up to a MFJ mobile mag mount antenna sitting on a cookie sheet inside the house! :o Holy kr@p, that's like 100 miles!!! I joined in the Red-Eye Net last night, that was fun. Nice group of folks there, to bad it starts so frickin' late. See y'all on Thursday night's Net!

Congratulations. Atta Boy. Remember, you need at least 3 antennas on the FJ to be classified as a radio geek.
