The View fromk Hill 533 (Otay)

Post by OLLIE » Tue Mar 16, 2010 3:57 pm

Some of us are getting conditioned to do some backpacking at altitude. At least twice a week I try to hike to the peak of one or two moutains/hills. There's a regular group of us that do a Cowles Peak hike every Thursday evening. I try to do a hike up a peak closer to my home at least every Tuesday, sometimes even on days other than Tuesday depending on work. The views are amazing. I have taken a few people up there with me now. Among them are Skytrax and BorregoWrangler. What a great way to get back in shape. Here are some of the views I'm blessed with...

Ah... so my local mountain might be a little overkill (3.5 miles, 1500ft gain).
I've been thinking about doing this for exercise as well. It seems the biggest challenge is to stop thinking and start doing.

Do it in increments. Start ouit with a quarter of the trail and every week or two add a little more distance.
