This is so awesome! Great pictures! The only safari I can go on is at the San Diego Wild Animal Park and they don't allow Jeeps or guns.

I don't think Africa allows Jeeps either.

You see Jeeps in Africa. They sell them there. Toyota is definately more popular. You tend to see the jeeps in town. They just don't hold up out in the bush. They are not reliable enough to stake your life or business on---as told to me by numerous PH's and game lodge managers and others who work outside the city, plus my own observations.

Thanks for the kind words. The city we flew into was Windhoek, Namibia. Some of the pictures were taken in the hunting areas and some were from Etosha National park. I found Namibia to be a very nice, modern and clean country. The people were very nice and it had a safe feel. South Africa has deteriorated due to the substantial rise in crime and greed. In comparison to Zimbabwe, they were each modern countries. The government of Zim is so corrupt and they have raped the country. The safari industry is in trouble due to all the poaching and greed. Capetown SA is very nice to visit. You can tour the vineyards and go to the cape of good hope. If anyone is interested in pics of anything else let me know and I will try to post.

Hey Big B, how you been?
Took my 40D-jury is still out on the 7D. Most shots with the 100-400L. Some with the 1.4TC. Also took 17-40L and 24-105L. Left the 70-200 F-4L at home. Length depended on the range. Most between 100 to 400 considering the 1.6 crop. Furthest 896mm. All Jpeg, no post processing. I am old school, don't much believe in photo shop. You know the two schools of thought.

Been good. Looks like you've been having fun.

Reason I ask about the lenses is my brother and his wife are going to Africa soon. She has a 70-200L 2.8 IS that I bought her for her birthday. She does not have a TC. I was just wondering if that lens will get by or if I should send her my 2x TC to take on the trip?

Were you using a tripod, monopod, or HH.

Sorry to hear you don't like the 7D.
