Our net last week included a discussion of the Carrizo Plain NM. If you get the opportunity, please post up a trip report.
Yeah, I listened in via EchoLink but did not check in. We had planned this trip weeks ago and hope the bloom will be good there this weekend. Not really a ‘wheeling’ trip but it will be interesting. I will take pictures and post them up.

DennisDawg wrote:Forest Aid is an effort by The Tree People and The San Bernardino Forest Association to replant trees in the burn areas of San Bernardino National Forest. The effort runs all spring while conditions allow for it. All one need do is sign up and show up. The workday runs from about 9 AM (where you are transported to the planting site) to 1 PM, the work is not hard, kids can even do it and it is a lot of fun. A Reforestation Supervisor will show you how it is done and help you do the work. After you can enjoy the fun in Big Bear!

More details are here: http://www.forestaid.net/

I started with them last year, volunteering as a Reforestation Supervisor, and I assure you it is fun, family oriented, team building, and more. I very much encourage people and groups to sign up and go!

Bring gloves, snacks, water . . . hardhats, tools and instruction are provided.

You might want to start a separate thread about Forest Aid; I'm sure many here would be interested, especially since it is a family friendly event...

Thanks for the information :D
