April 8, 2010 OAUSA Net - Dutch Oven Cooking

Post by toms » Wed Apr 07, 2010 4:46 am

Our topic for the net is Dutch Oven cooking. Bruce Crabtree, KI6RZW will be with us again. Bruce has been cooking with Dutch Ovens for 15 years and is a member of the Southern California Chapter of the International Dutch Oven Society. The net will cover all aspects of buying an oven, recommended manufactures, best sizes, seasoning a new oven, heat source, controlling the heat, suggested recipes for the first timer, big no-no’s, additional equipment and storage & cleaning. Bring any questions you have for Bruce and perhaps share with the net your success and failures.

Check the Outdoor Adventure Cooking and BBQ section of the forum for detailed Dutch Oven recipes.

We had a great net with lots of execllent qustions for Bruce. It keep Bruce busy for the entire period. We had to pull the plug at 9:30 but we will schedule Bruce back for a repeat. Next time, you can share your "burned - my first -one" stories. We had 27 check ins. I can forward any email comments or questions to Bruce. My email is tom@4x4training.com.
See you on the Trail!

I understand you will actually be doing an on-air demonstration by cooking a peach cobbler. Can't wait!

If you figure out how to give out on-air samples, I'm there.
