Additional Camping Venues

Post by NotAMog » Sun Jun 08, 2008 8:36 pm

I really enjoyed last weeks net on off road camping ideas. I hope that the discussions on this topic continue in the future. It would be good to schedule a net to discuss mountain camping options beyond Big Bear in time to plan something for this summer. I'd like to suggest a discussion on the Kern Plateau since it's within the distance criteria given in the net for many people in the area.

Other areas which are a bit further away but offer some interesting wheeling and back country camping options are the Inyo and White Mountains.

I've only been in the hobby a couple of years and I'm always interested to learn about new places to visit that are relatively close by.

Hey Bruce:

We are definitely going to continue this topic. With summer here, the mountains are a great getaway choice and there are plenty near us. If you have some locations that you have scoped out, we can certainly use your input on the net. With as many places as there are, we can all benefit from the experience of others. Let me know.

One of the areas that I intend to discuss is in the Sequoia National Forest and Park.
