No, I haven't done this myself yet so I'm looking forward to it. I'll be heading up to Big Bear on Wednesday to do some work on our cabin and coming back on Thursday. I'm not too sure exactly when so I'll keep in touch.OLLIE wrote:I just looked it up... It's round trip. Have you tried this route already? It starts at Big Rock Park in Santee at the corner of Mesa Road and Prospect Ave. It totals almost 5 miles and meets up with the service road we usually take.
Can you meet at the trailhead at 3:30pm on Thursday?

My wife and I love Cowles. That's where we have been getting ready for Half Dome. I love that whole park. So many cool trails in the middle of the city.

Oh yeah, there's a lot to see around Mission Trails. I also like heading up Oak Creek to the waterfall after it's rained a bit. Then from there its not too hard to get to North or South Fortuna Mountains.Willie H wrote:My wife and I love Cowles. That's where we have been getting ready for Half Dome. I love that whole park. I guess I've been setting a good example, as my wife and sister have started joining me too. Just got back not too long ago this morning.
