San Diego CERT
Is anybody here a member of San Diego CERT and would like to share their experiences. I've signed up for their training course and planning on joining in October.

Re: San Diego CERT
Just enrolled in Red Cross' Emergency Response class for August. This will be easier on my schedule than the WFA class as it involves 9 evenings. Probably will take the NOLS class later in the year. Will be interesting to see the differences between the urban and wilderness focus.

Please do a write up on whatever class(s) you take, along with your recommendations.Dennis David wrote:Just enrolled in Red Cross' Emergency Response class for August. Re: San Diego CERT
Well Monday I start my Red Cross Emergency Response class and in October I have my CERT Academy. I’m taking a GIS class at Mesa College and seriously thinking of pursuing more of the same at Palomar and SDSU. I signed up for CPR at Palomar. This will be my third CPR class because some organizations recognize the Red Cross and others only the American Heart Association. Well I guess I can use the practice. The CPR class and the ER class will serve as prerequisites for the EMT classes I plan to take next Spring. Not sure where an EMT-Basic license will get me but it’s all part of my plan for my trip to Costa Rica. I’m only behind schedule on getting my 4-wheeler ☹.

Re: San Diego CERT
I just finished CERT training in Julian on Monday. It's pretty basic and easy. Good luck.

I've been waiting for the CERT training that covers the Dulzura area to conduct a training again so I can get onboard there.

Re: San Diego CERT
Won't the San Diego CERT academy cover that area? (South County)
Monday is my big test for my Emergency Response class which is he prereq for EMT training. 9 days from 5-10PM after working 8 hours at your day job can take a lot out of you. Next spring I'll enroll in an EMT class at Palomar College if all goes according to plan then WEMT class next summer.
