This week’s net will cover the subject of wine. Wine is a great companion when recreating in the outdoors as long as done responsibly. That means after the day’s activities and in a safe place like around a camp fire. Our guest will be Wine Master Lynda KI6SXI. Lynda is a wealth of information on wine and will talk about wine making, wineries, wine tasting, corks, box wines, reading labels and much more. We will do a taste test of 2 wines. If you want to follow along and give us your tasting input Thursday night, purchase a bottle of 1) Zynthesis Zinfandel '08 - Get it at Bev Mo for $10.99 and a bottle of 2) Yalumba Y Series Viognier '08 (750 ML) - Get it at Bev Mo for $9.99. An Optional 3rd wine we will taste which no one has disliked before. But is it really a wine? It is called a fortified desert wine! 3) ChocoVine Chocolate and Fine Wine. You can get it at Bev Mo also for $9.99.
Remember – you cannot be mobile if you are taste testing!!
Wow - we had a great time with this net. I really liked the Zynthesis but not so much the Yulumba. Dave K6DTK helped with the taste testing and he really like the Yulumba. Everyone like the ChocVine! Lynda picked some excellent wines in a moderate price catagory again and imparted a lot of knowledge to the net.
The net lasted 2 hours. We had 33 check ins in spite of the Laker/ Celtic playoff.
If you like this subject let me know and we can schedule it more frequently.

I didn't know what to expect of last night's but after hanging in on echolink I thought it was very good. I'm not a wine drinker but took quite a bit of good info away from the whole net. In fact, I may switch my camping beverages from Stone to box wine now. It makes so much sense to use box and bag wine at the camp site. Beyond that, clanging empty beer bottles on the trail all day is so damn anoying !
