LOL Ralphie is a Mac man now :D He can't wait to replace that net book with an iPad, to match the 50'' iMac, iPhone, and iPod.

Anyway I dig the new OS. The folders are great. I put my Sat tracker, logger, code trainer, and what ever else in a HAM folder. GPS trackers, Peak AR, and other "nav aids" in a NAV folder. Made a diver folder, fart noise maker folder, I just really cleaned everything up.

I informed the wife when the iOS4 hits iPad... I'm getting one, and the Otter Box for it. They just need an app like Overland Navigator for it.

O yeah, I checked out the Geotagging for photos too. Really cool! Only works with iphoto though.

They have a topo app. It isn't quite as refined, and doesn't do APRS, but it puts you on the map with GPS and downloads the USGS quads just fine. Jon (SP Jon M3) was using it the last couple trips and I was surprisingly impressed.

Groundspeak has a pretty decent geocaching app. A bit buggy but works well. The APRS is an interesting idea. I might have to start researching that one. How useful would you guys find that?

I have kicked myself the last 3 outings for not getting a carputer set up with APRS. IMO it is invaluable for group outings, among other things.

I think APRS is pretty rad, as long as it running.

I tried using iTopo yesterday on Rattlesnake, Heartbreak, and Pontiac. Damn thing kept crashing on me. It didnt start moving till I was almost back on 15 south!!! A couple of other guys at camp were talking about Jon using his iPad running that app it was worked great. I guess i need to chat with Jon some more about it. It was awesome when it was working though.
