When we were building the ranch in Poway, we hunted and killed 22 rattlers in a week. Figured we'd get the bastards before they could get our llamas.

I like snakes! When we head over to the river I usually run into rattlers, king snakes and gopher snakes.
I recently caught and relocated a big diamondback rattler on my family's ranch in Delzura. They kill them on sight out there but I didn't have the heart to do it. It was such a big, beautiful specimen and really mellow. Took him across the 94 into the Otay Mountains. Just wish I had a camera with me!

I RESPECT snakes. They fascinate me and only scare me when startled by them.

Just a heads up. Keep in mind that the venom of a mohave green is different then the average diamondback. We generally have the pacific rattler. The MG is a nervous and aggressive fellow with the bite of a cobra. There are docs that are not even aware of this fellow and the proper antivenom to use.
