In 2005 I went on one of Tom's guided tours, the Mojave Road Adventure. I got stuck the first day. My daughter who was 8 at the time thought it was the best thing in the world!

Not paying close enough attention while driving on the beach at Fiesta Island. Good thing there was another Jeep close by to pull me out!

This was the first blunder in my FJ. It wasn't more than a few months old and it was my first trip to Truckhaven. I didn't have a spottter and slipped off this boulder right onto my skid plate. After getting winched off the boulder I attacked it again with a spotter and had no issues.

Props to your friend for knowing when to call it quits and break out the winch. There's no reason to roll a perfectly good vehicle, even if it is a Jeep.hawkeye wrote:I have yet to have any trail carnage. Re: Let's see those pics!
Went and covered a race a couple of weeks ago in the Lucerne Valley area and ended up with 2 flat tires and only one spare. The one tire was completely destroyed. The other tire was puntured in the tread. Tried to plug it. Took 4 plugs inserted 3 different times to get me out of the area and to the 15 fwy. I love my Slime repair kit with compressor. I was able to get to the top of Cajon Pass until I decided I didn't want to push it any further, especially going down the Pass. Gave up and called a wrecker. AAA Plus with first 100 miles free is awesome coverage! Fortunately I was only 77 miles out. Whew! I'm glad I wasn't in Mexico.
Now to find another spare and a good mount. I don't think I want it on the roof. I think it will be too heavy to get off should I need it.
At least I was able to get the tires replaced under warranty. That was lucky too

Re: Let's see those pics!
This was the first and last time I broke my "if you can't see it, don't drive it" rule. I was following trail directions on the radio ... or so I thought. High centered, sitting on the cross frame above a 6' drop. Tugged off by a Cherokee using a strap on the rear receiver
