Keller Peak Echolink

Post by BlueFJ » Sun Sep 05, 2010 11:18 am

Is there a problem with Keller Peak's Echolink connection? I am unable to hit the repeater nor hear anything from it over Echolink. Getting same results on both my Droid and Windows XP box. Couldn't get any audio during Thursday night's Net but was able to text. I can hit and hear other repeaters, so...

I susspect it is Keller Peak repeater's problem. But don't know what happened. I had the same experience last Thursday as you did. It seems it only work correctly about 1 week in 4. I checked you in BTW. I thought you could hear but just not get back on the mic.
See you on the Trail!

Craig:

I believe that Tom is right. The echolink connection to Keller has been difficult for some time now. Dennis Hughes is constantly working to keep it up and running.

As long as we are on the topic, I seem to recall that your echolink connection has always been excellent. What mic are you using?

Tom, thanks for the check-in and feedback. Dave, my mic is just one of the cheap mics that came with the Compaq computers at a company I used to work for. We had a surplus of them as we did not set them up with the computers and I brought one home. Sorry about the humongous image size

I sent Keller Peak an email, and this is the reply I got from Dennis...

The Keller Peak Repeater has a Wi-Fi link up to the hill at 14 miles. We do loose internet connection quite often. When that happens sometimes Echolink gets messed up. It's beyond my control most of the time it will just come back alive magically.

Dennis.

As Dennis stated, it "magically" came back to life again last night! :D
BTW, it's pretty dang cool to be able to use repeaters with my Droid! :ugeek: :ugeek: :ugeek: A big thanks to the folks at Echolink for developing the Droid app!!!
