Beginning on September 11, 2010, through September 19,2010, the 11th annual Route 66 on the air event kicks off.
There are 17 fixed stations operating along Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica, California. Three additional mobile rover stations will also be involved for a total of 20 stations to make contact with for a clean sweep during the 9 day event. The object, of course, is to work all 20. But if you work at least 1, you can apply for a certificate, suitable for framing, from the Citrus Belt Amateur Radio Club.
More details are available from the Citrus Belt Amateur Radio Club at http://www.w6jbt.org/.

Re: Big Pile up on Route 66
Interesting. Is this a purely HF event, or are 2m stations to be up as well? Is OAUSA getting involved officially?
We happen to be right smack in the middle of a long stretch of Route 66...

Chazz,
It's primarily a HF event. But you might check their websites occasionally to see if they create any 2m traffic.
