local spot this morning

Post by smslavin » Sat Oct 02, 2010 9:04 am

I wasn't sure what to expect this morning but put the camera together anyway. Not much light when I got down to the water so I handplaned a bit and waited for the sun to rise over the clouds. Shared a few waves with a family of dolphins so I knew the morning could only get better.

Run up to the truck to trade the handplane for the camera and I'm glad I did. Spent the morning experimenting.

Sweet pix! What is a handplane, other than the tool for shaving wood? ;)

What camera, housing, and lens do you use?

I've been thinking of buying a housing for my 7d, but all the ones I've looked at don't have any ports that will fit my 24-70 f/2.8L.

my housings are from sean over at spl. i use a 5D (the original one, not a MKII) and i have ports for a 16-35/2.8 and a 70-200/2.8 as well as a flash housing. i believe sean can build ports for any lens but you'll have to leave it with him for the construction and fitting.

i also have housings for my film cameras but i don't use them if i'm just out experimenting. swimming back in every 36 frames gets a little old... ;)
