A new (to me) ride of a different kind...

Post by BorregoWrangler » Mon Oct 04, 2010 1:28 pm

Just pick up a 1975 Glastron Tri-Hull Bowrider in extremely good condition. Went in halves with my father in-law. It also has a newer outboard on it. All we had to do was change out the impeller and everything worked out great on it. Took it out on the bay last night to see how it handled. Very smooth riding boat. Looking forward to getting more bass and halibut fishing done in the bay and catfish at the river!

On the way into the dock Mike took the Captain's seat while I relaxed on the bow. Unfortunately, at one point along the way he suddenly realized we were quickly approaching a large wake and cut the throttle, which caused the bow to plow into the oncoming swell. All I could think was "No!" as I watched, in what seemed like slow-motion, a wall of water come up over the bow and completely soak me! Yeah, they got a good laugh out of that one.

John,
Enjoy your "other off road vehicle." I know we do. If you ever make it to the river/Havasu, give a shout and we can do some offroading--no tires required. :D

Very clean boat. The Glastrons are classics. It's no wonder so many are still around....they had very nicely laid up hulls. With the weather being what it was over the weekend, it would make for an awesome evening harbor cruise.
Good luck with it.
