I have a mount for a netbook. I don't think it'll hold the weight of the toughbook. It was the mount I was using for my iPad in the 4R until the official iPad mount was released.Willie H wrote:Toughbook CF 28. Do you have something Jon?
This is what I was using:

Yeah I doubt that would hold up 9lbs on the trail. Thanks for the reply though and it's good to hear you have you iPad setup!

I think your best bet is going to buy a RAM mount from ebay.

The complete Ram Mount (Part# RAM-VB-138ST1-SW1) set-up is about $250 or so, and works very well...I use it in my FJ with a very heavy Toughbook, and it doesn't move or rattle on the trail, yet can be adjusted very easily.OLLIE wrote:I think your best bet is going to buy a RAM mount from ebay.

How intrusive is it to a passenger with and with out the Toughbook?cruiserlarry wrote:The complete Ram Mount (Part# RAM-VB-138ST1-SW1) set-up is about $250 or so, and works very well...I use it in my FJ with a very heavy Toughbook, and it doesn't move or rattle on the trail, yet can be adjusted very easily.

I use the same mount and have passengers all the time. You can remove the upper part of the mount and just have a small post sticking up. I keep the adjustment arm setting toward the center console so if the laptop is in place the arm isn't smacking their leg. I'll try to get some pics for you.Willie H wrote:How intrusive is it to a passenger with and with out the Toughbook?cruiserlarry wrote:The complete Ram Mount (Part# RAM-VB-138ST1-SW1) set-up is about $250 or so, and works very well...I use it in my FJ with a very heavy Toughbook, and it doesn't move or rattle on the trail, yet can be adjusted very easily.
