Utah Linked 2m Repeaters - Sinbad Desert ARC

Post by Arkarch » Thu May 29, 2008 8:44 pm

I used this repeater network a couple weeks ago to link up with a fellow 4x4'er coming in another part of the state. I was able to hit Abajo on the 191 coming into Utah near Bluff UT; and my friend was coming down the I-70 past Richfield. Both of us were headed to Moab, so this network facilitated reliable contacts, especially useful in areas without cel network.

For the SE part of UT - Abajo Peak has awesome coverage. Bruin is in the main site near Price. Cedar Peak covers Green River / Moab very well. The Moab repeaters are also linked to this system, but appeared to be down when we were in the area.

The net does not cover the I-15 side - but most everything on the desert side.

The Mt Ellen repeater 147.080 + pl 136.5 Sinbad Desert has some what decent coverage here on the Southern Utah/Northern Az border by Lake Powell. We also have Navajo Mountain 146.960- 100pl with full Coverage around the lake. The Utah vhfs society's linked system is also very good.

I have gotten into it from Big Bear via the Mt Potosi link http://www.utahvhfs.org
Thanks for sharing that. That kind of information can be critical in our community. :)
