Saline Halloween 2010

Post by DennisDawg » Mon Nov 08, 2010 3:32 pm

A friend and I headed to Saline Valley over the last weekend in October. It was the first time in a while the truck was all happy and squared away to go someplace. Saline is all easy stuff but it is a lot of fun.

I see you folks have a Net about Death Valley back on October 4 or so. Sorry I missed that because as some of you know, I have wheeled and hiked a lot of the area. It is magical in a way, the whole area with its big expansive views.

Anyway, I do not like the big runs (the Panamint Valley Days sort of thing) because I think when it is full of people it kind for ruins some of that magic.

Glad your rig was up to the task, and that you and your friend had a good time...

Why don't you try to check in on the Thurs night OAUSA nets (7:30-9:30pm)? We'd love to have your input, and since you're on Keller Peak already, it won't be an issue to hit the repeater for you

Looks like a great trip. I agree with you about the crowds.

Sorry I didn’t get back to you on this. I have checked into the Adventure Net many times but since I started this job and all that as gone on in the past six months or so, I miss a lot. I was the one who last spring checked in with an HT and home made Yagi from the top of Wildrose Peak . . . an unofficial 5 watt record (or maybe not)!

I will try to start checking in again.

Anyway, I am always here to assist if you want to do a Death Valley trip . . . either with information or more. It is one of my favorite areas.
