Keller Peak Repeater IRLP
By now, everyone knows that our Amateur Radio Nets are carried on the Keller Peak Repeater. Despite Keller's extensive coverage, it has been our goal, from our very first net, to expand our reach well beyond the areas covered by Keller. We can do this through a system known as IRLP (Internet Radio Linking Project, see: http://irlp.net/). If you have spent any time on the WIN System, you know how well IRLP works.
Initially, once Keller becomes IRLP equipped, we will have coverage for much of the South West, including parts of Nevada and Arizona, the greater San Diego area, the San Fernando Valley and much more of California. AND, this is just a start. Now that Keller has effectively installed an internet connection at the repeater site, our final step to reaching our goal will be purchasing the necessary IRLP equipment. The three primary nets on Keller, the Rescue Net, the Satern Net and the OAUSA Net, have all agreed to split the cost of this equipment. For us, that means we will need to raise about $270.00.
Any amount will help. For those who would like to make a donation, please send a check made payable to KPRA at 7275 Pico Avenue,
Riverside, Ca. 92509. PLEASE NOTE: in the memo section of the check, please make the following entry - OAUSA - IRLP. Thanks.

Thanks guys!
The donations need to go directly to KRPA, as they will keep tabs on the money and then have immediate access to make the purchases.
I'm in for $50.00.

Re: Keller Peak Repeater IRLP
I think Larry has a great idea there! We might get more donations if folks were allowed to use the donate button and use Paypal. There is a purpose field that you could fill in with "for OAUSA - IRLP".
What do you think?
