Here are some URL's for my suggestions:

http://www.arrowantennas.com/osj/j-pole.html I recommend the dual band OSJ-146/440 with the two piece element for $49 is a very well constructed and easily portable omnidirectional antenna. $49

http://www.sierraexpeditions.com/index. ... ail&p=2080 LightForce XR-E CREE LED Flashlight a very nice inexpensive extremely bright led flashlight. Uses dry cell batteries that I find to be more reliable than rechargeable batteries for long term storage. $29

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Communication ... es/TH-D72A Kenwood TH-D72A Dualband Built in GPS and TNC a great APRS Performer, USB interface to computer makes a great no hassle interconnect. Works as a digipeater. Skycommand makes it great for remote control of your HF TS-2000 or your TM-D700A or TMD710A $400 +

Great net tonight. A lot of good ideas in all price ranges.

Hector, you got me all excited about the new Kenwood TH-D72A...but checking on pricing revealed it is $500, which is not as tempting as $400....

I got to listen in a bit last night. I had a few technical difficulties and wasn't able to transmit from Echolink so I apologize for not checking in. There were some really good ideas so we'll see if my letter to Santa makes it.
