Hiking Torrey Pines

Post by smslavin » Tue Nov 30, 2010 11:25 pm

This past Sunday, while Roxy was on the mend and Piper was napping, Dillen and I went down to Torrey Pines State Park for a quick hike. At first, Dillen was a little apprehensive but I had a couple of tricks. This time out I gave her the task of paying attention. To the trail. To the sky. To the dirt. To the trees. To the color. Then I gave her a camera.

I followed a few paces behind and paid attention in my own way.

Dillen totally enjoyed the afternoon and we wound up hiking around for over 2 hours. We covered some ground and Dillen's endurance surprised me. She's getting stronger and really starting to enjoy being outdoors. Totally stoked.

Nice. Its great getting out even if its only for a bit and close to home. Great to see you getting your kid out there too.

While I was away over the weekend I was thinking about all the stuff I'll get to show and teach my daughter about the outdoors. Thanks for sharing!

Another great write up Sean. I'm taking my family to the Birch Aquarium on Friday (12/31). Can't wait to get the whole family out of the house for once.

Thanks. If we were in town, we'd come down and meet you guys. Have fun. My girls love that place and we got married there oh so long ago...
