Outdoor adventure plans for 2011?

Post by BorregoWrangler » Fri Jan 07, 2011 3:31 am

So with the new year upon us what trips do folks here have planned? Heading out to an area you've never been? Just planning on getting in a few more local day trips?

I would love to make it out to Death Valley and Panamint Mountains this year, since I've never been, as well as explore more of the Mojave Preserve. I'll be spending a few days around Corral Canyon and Jacumba this month and will hopefully get some more hiking trips in. However, with a child along the way soon, I'll probably won't be able to make it out much. Parenthood is going to be my biggest adventure!

So what kind of trips is everyone here looking forward to? Image Image

I'm always up for Death Valley. It's relatively close for me. I've been there several times with the Pinzgauer but I never get tired of the place. There are still many areas there I have yet to visit.

I'd like to do the Mojave Road again sometime this year too.

For most of the year my big project will be building up the Tacoma and outfitting the FlipPac. Next year I hope to get out and spend more time off road camping with the new rig.

Funny I was thinking of visiting Death Valley as well. I am also hoping to attend a WEMT class in Oregon during the summer assuming I pass my EMT class and test this spring. :D

I'll be with my daughter's school class for 5 days in Death Valley in a couple of months. I'd like to go again for a more adventurous trip.

I'd like to wander around the Mojave a few weekends this year.

Coyote Flats or Monache Meadows this summer. I also want to explore the San Bernardino mountain trails.

Parenthood is my biggest adventure as well. When my daughters were in K though 4th Grade it was easy to take them out of school for a day for a 3 day weekend. It's much harder now with the heavier homework load.

At least one Calico Run
Calico is fun for exploring as well as a great shooting area.
