I am going to try to be there, maybe I can talk someone into showing me how to program and use my radios for more than just simplex. ( I read the manuals I think I am just stupid.) :D

Jesse -

For the record, anyone who has met you, and had any conversation with you, knows you are not stupid... ;)

The programming of amateur radios, especially given the writing style found in many of the instruction manuals provided, can be a daunting task. Many radios have optional software and connecting cables to allow you to accomplish the task on your computer, and then download the info into the radio. If it's available, I recommend you get it - it will make programming easier, and allow you (in most cases) to upload files others have already created for your radio, simplifying the task even more.

Post up the brand / model of the radio(s) you are working with, and I'm sure you'll find others here who are familiar with them to help... :D

Don't feel bad. I will be bringing my radio. I am stupid. All I can do is turn it on. I will be begging and pleading for someone to show me how to program the darn thing. It is all Ollie's fault, or was it Larry or maybe Dave or it could have been Eric or ......

I agree Jesse is certainly not stupid. If he's running the same radio he had in his FJ, Ibelieve it's the D710. We can plug it into my computer and he'll be all programmed. :D

Should we start a sign-up thread ?

Maybe folks can say if they are coming, if they will have a vehicle to display, and if they are planning on taking a test...We might then have a better idea of how much space to request, and how many people will be testing....
