Alpine Loop

Post by OLLIE » Sun May 11, 2008 9:38 am

A group of us ran this awsome run in July of 2007. The Alpine Loop Back Country Byway, a 65-mile circle tour can be made in one day from Ouray, Lake City or Silverton. Two days would even be better to really see and enjoy the area. The road is open most of the summer and early fall June-October.

Right off of the trail before you start up the switchbacks to the Engineer Pass summit.

I wish that places like that were closer to me. I'd love to spend a weekend on that trail, but I'd have to add 4 days for driving back and forth....takes the fun out of it if you are in a hurry.

Awesome pics, by the way... ;)
