North Lake Mead

Post by ssc » Wed Mar 02, 2011 10:55 pm

Had a family get together in Vegas. Decided to take a look around the north side of Lake Mead. I had heard the water level was low. That was an understatement. As I was wheeling in areas, my GPS showed I should have been in Water. Launch ramps that were closed and areas that looked abandoned. Went for a few hikes and I did see some nice red rock and an old desert big horn Ram.

Regards, Steve

Heh, I was just there on the other side... or at least where the other side used to be. Now its just miles of restored Colorado riverbed. :D

Great pics Steve. That sucks that the water is so low. Maybe all this weather will help with that.

Neat pictures. Hey, at least you're closer to the fish now!
