The Hunt

Post by ssc » Mon Mar 07, 2011 9:33 pm

So I decided it was time to hunt and trap some nasty beasts. Though I am not big on baiting, I decided it was the route to take. I needed to bring them in close. I had the dogs close to help with the death battle that I knew was coming. It was cold and I waited with anticipation. It didn't take long. The dogs started to bark, the fight was on. I sprang up from the couch and ran out to the garage. Three dead mice in the traps, two traps licked clean and never tripped and one trap was gone. :o

I am a bit perplexed as to what happened to the one trap. After an hour of looking, it is not to be found. I think I smell a rat.

Cheers, Steve

Now that's funny right there. I used to live right next to a grain elevator as a kid. The manager of the elevator would let me and another kid go into the auger leg tunnels to shoot rats with our pellet guns. He would pay us a dollar a rat. Dave could be right about that Casull. Those rats were bigger than cats at times and our pellet guns just pissed them off. I thought about taking my .22 down there but realized that was not a smart move. :D

This is getting serious. I reset the traps and they were licked clean, but not tripped. My skills are evaporating. What has become of my "tiger blood?" People are laughing at me. Beasts are feeding on my treats and turning up their nose. The dogs have walked away with tails down. I must regain my manhood. Today is another day. The claymores are set. The trip flares are in place. Wire has been strung. The snipers nest is ready. The traps are set, wrapped with det cord. Now we shall see who wins this war.

Got a bit too much time on my hands today.

Regards, Steve
