This was the largest recorded earthquake in Japan's history (8.9 ) - and they have a lot of big quakes. Some of the aftershocks were larger than our Symar and Newhall quakes. That video, unreal as it looks, is deceiving in the intensity and proportion; those long bars are actually full-size commercial greenhouses, and the water is coming at them at roof height :o . On many of the broadcasts last night, you could see people and trucks driving or running, but unable to see the unbelievable wave of water hidden from their view that was bearing down on them - difficult for me to watch on TV, and I'm sure devastating for the helicopter pilot as well.

My heart goes out to all those affected directly in Japan, and those with family and friends in the affected areas...

Very sad event indeed. I've been at a loss for words since I started hearing the reports.
