Big Bear 5-28

Post by ssc » Thu May 26, 2011 2:00 pm

I am thinking of going to Big Bear this Sat 5-28. My thought is to head in the south side, through 7 Oaks. Then go to Clarks Ranch--I have seen deer in this area and there is a nice area to park and look around. Lots of bear sign. Then head up Clarks grade to the summit and into Moonridge. At that point, maybe gas and lunch and then head over to the north side. Then head down to Burnt flat and then do Jacoby. As a general proposition, this is an easy run and any stock rig should be able to do it. However, I went up to do willow creek a few weeks ago and the rain and snow had definately increased the difficulty and exposed some tough sections. I go up HWY 38 and if anyone is interested, we can meet at the ranger station on Hwy 38. I can get the address if anyone is interested. Thinking about meeting around 8:30 and leaving by 9am.

Sorry Steve. I got back late Friday night and came home to a house full of sick family. Now I think I'm coming down with it. :(

Hi Ollie,
Hope you don't get the crud. It is not fun. Still snow up around BB.
