Big Bear 7/16 & 7/17

Post by FishPOET » Sun Jul 17, 2011 7:54 pm

Tracy wanted a weekend in Big Bear. IMO the North facing slope South of Big Bear Lake is AMAZING. Cool topography and geology around every corner. And the views aren't half bad either. Our plan was to spend most of the weekend in this area. We left Norco at 6:30pm on Friday night. Once up the hill we headed for YP30 only to find it occupied. We found a turnout about 1 mile away and stopped for the night.

I like a good fire :) The benefit of a Yellow Post site over dispersed camping.

"yellow post 30", where is this campground or camp spot located? I have been camping at Holcomb Valley campground but want to try somewhere new.

Thanks,

Derrick
