Thanks Ollie. I was downloading the GPX file onto the SD card last night and when I restarted the GPS it shorted and cooked it. WTF? You cant put the card in wrong and how does a SD card short anything anyway? Anyway it's being shipped to Garmin tomorrow...POS.

Must not like the idea of doing Tahquitz.

Garmin has always been good to be with issues. Too bad it's so close to the trip.

I have posted my SPOT Tracking link to the first post above the GPX file. If you would like for your family to know wear we're at just have them click on the link and it will show them on a Google Map. Additionally, if you would like them to get texts or emails with my OK messages please email me their email and/or cell phone number (and provider) at k6jyb@oausa.net and I'll add them to the contact list so they get the updated messages.

Looks like we're going to have about perfect weather for this day trek. Pray for clear skies (not hazy) so we can see some spectacular views. I know it will be a spectacular trip clear skies or not. I'll plan on being at the ranger station by at least 7:45.

How many more people do you have room for if any? Just wondering cause I was thinking of inviting Garrett and his girlfriend, they are both hyperfit so no worries about them lagging. I'm not sure they want to go but just checking in case?

They are more than welcome. THere is no limit. If there are more than 12 people total then we"ll just have to get two permits. They don't cost anything. They just limit the number of people allowed up the trail each day. Since we'll be there as soon as they are open we won't have a problem getting the permits.
