Hit the trail at Humber Park at 7:30am and reached the North Rim in a couple of hours. The weather once again was beautiful although it did threaten to rain several times and it was really humid. Had brunch, relaxed and took in the views then headed for the grotto on Wellman Cienaga. My sons girlfriend had to be in San Diego by 3:00PM so we turned around at 5.2 miles and headed back. Covered 10.4 miles and 3000ft of elevation in 3hrs 45 minutes of trail time. Fish tacos and drinks at the Lumber Mill Grill to finish off a fun day on the trail.

By the way, sorry for the low qual pics, all were taken from my dusty Blackberry.

Looks like a great trip none-the-less Scott. Wish I could have joined you but I want to stay married and I had to work. I want to find some time in our schedule to do the San Gabriel River over-nighter when it gets cooler. You are becoming a machine with all this hiking you are doing. When are you going to attack Gorgonio?

I understand the stay married statement, believe me I do. I would have done San Gorgonio last weekend but I had to work Saturday and lost my window of opportunity. It was fun to show Garrett and his girlfriend the grotto at Wellman-Cienaga and the North Rim. We scouted out some other awesome campsites, that area is chalk full of great spots. It was strangely empty for a holiday weekend, good luck for us. 8-) I'm looking forward to our next trip. Do you own any snowshoes?

It sounds like a blast Scott. No... I don't own snow shoes. I do have crampons though. I've definitely been where I need cramps but not snow shoes yet. :)
