Mt. San Jacinto Sunday September 4th

Post by gon2srf » Sat Sep 03, 2011 6:23 pm

Anyone looking for a fun 16 mile day hike tomorrow, we'll be meeting at the Idyllwild Ranger Station 54270 Pinecrest Ave, Idyllwild-Pine Cove, CA 92549‎ at 6:00am to pick up a pass and then hitting the Devils Slide Trail from Humber Park 24407 Fern Valley Road, Idyllwild, CA 92549 at 6:45am. Need to have an Adventure Pass for your vehicle.

Distance : 16.2 miles round trip.
Elevation: 4000 elevation gain
Trail Time:7-8 hours with an hour here or there for rest and water filtration.
Level: Strenuous

Bring plenty of water, food (a couple of sandwiches, trail mix, GU, Shotblocks) and sunscreen Maybe some Motrin or Excederin if the altitude gets to you. I will have a filter, Aqua Mira water treatment and First Aid Kit with me. Pack light, all hikers coming along are super fit with the exception of me..
