I've seen them on three occasions. At Carrizo Mountain, then along the Old Mountain Springs Stagecoach Trail, and then here along Highway 78 at the Narrows.

Dont feel bad Scott, I've never seen any big horns either, and I've been out there quite a few times as well. I have, however, seen a few asses, that should count for something!

I have seen a few bighorn sheep. Saw one on the north side of Big Bear. Seen them in AZ, NV, CO etc.I have seen plenty of 2 and 4 legged asses also. I have never seen a "Mountain Goat" in California, as I do not think their habitat is here. However, if they are here, I want to get a picture. ;) I do have friends that have hunted for them and it is a difficult, physically demanding hunt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_goat

Yes, I know--I am being :P :P

They are hard to find when you are looking. Here is part of a herd from Death Valley, the total number was about 35. These are the Nelson Bighorn Sheep. In Anza Borrego we have the Peninsular Bighorn Sheep.
