2011-11-19 Sidewinder (Corral Canyon) Run

Thinking about doing a run with some friends on the Brown Forum on Nov 19th. Doing Sidewinder and maybe Carvacre. Anyone up for it?

Time: Los Coches McDonald's in El Cajon (http://www2.mccalifornia.com/16724/) at 9AM, where we can fuel up.

Trail Rating: Moderate to Difficult

Vehicle Minimum Requirements: 3" lift, 33" tires, rear locker (a mostly stock FJ can do this without any issues)

I am not familiar with either of these trails, could you give me a little more info? I will see if I can find anything on them online. Is it suitable for a long wheelbase?

Dang! This is the one weekend I already have something planned for the next month. I will be south of the boarder for the Baja 1000 that weekend. I hope you have a great run.

Sidewinder is located about an hour east of San Diego on th esouth sid eof I-8. Both of these trails are identified as moderate to difficult trails. Rule of them on either of them is 33" tires, armor underneath, and at least a rear locker. With the right line stock rigs can run them. There are a few spots on Sidewinder that would tear up them rocker panels or fenders on a full sized truck unless it's very well set up.

I'm thinking of doing another run more suited for a long wheel base soon near Otay Mtn. It runs from Maron Valley Truck Trail over to the 94.

Well, I am an 06 PowerWagon, so locked front and rear, on 305/70/17 No rock rails yet. I will have to look into the trail a little more and see what it looks like. I dont mind scratching it up and denting bumpers, but it is my daily driver so I have to make sure it still drives

I love wheelin' out there but I'll be out at the river that weekend. I don't think my TJ is ready for those trails right now anyway.

Your truck should be fine out there. I've guided stock full-sized trucks through there before.
