Ah Ha!
Hi Shuly!
I knew I've seen your truck on a site other than T120.
It was fun meeting you guys at Hunter Cabin.
Shuly and friends at Hunter Cabin.

Guess who I ran into on Sunday morning too!!! Eric and his wife (I think his handle is ETAV8R???) from the expo board also. We met them on the Bodie Trip. It was rather unexpected to keep running into people on that run

I just saw the post about Death Valley.
My wife & I are meeting my mom and some of her friends (MOUNTAIN BIKERS) The end of January 27th thru 31st 2012
We are taking our motor home & jeep. Were staying at the Furnace Creek Ranch RV Park they are staying at the little motel there as well. We will be exploring the area VIA our jeep, while the others are biking. I’ve been there once before several years ago & can’t wait to go back, my mom goes there almost every year. There are couple of camp grounds in the area. If you guys were able to schedule you trip that weekend we would love to explore the area with your group. I know I would get a little further off the beaten path if there were other rigs with us.
See you this weekend
Vic COOPX4
I would be totally interested in a trip out to death valley. Been dreaming of a trip out there forever.

Hey Bruce! We wheeled a while back with the So. Cal. Bunch to Butte Valley.NotAMog wrote:It was surprising from the check-in on Tom's Death Valley net last week how few people have been to Death Valley or haven't visited there in many years. They are missing out on one of the most historic and ruggedly scenic areas of California. Perhaps there should be some OAUSA organized event or run to Death Valley to encourage people to visit the area.
You know I have been to Death Valley too many times, know a bunch of it. If you need help arranging a trip, leaders, tails, just someone with whom to trade ideas, let me know.
Spring, when it warms up a little is best for most of it. You know, very pretty desert, mostly easy to medium trails, some areas with oddities, trails to hike or backpack, mines, stories to tell, mountains to climb, and spirits to haunt the night!

Re: Death Valley Event?
Dennis,
I glad to see that you're still out there. There has been some talk about a Death Valley trip but so far nothing definite has been planned.
I got the plywood today to start building out the back of the FlipPac on the Tacoma. Late March would be a good time for a shake down cruise. Hopefully, I'll have everything finished by that then. Death Valley would be a great destination to try out the new systems.

Ah, you are expanding the mansion I see! I am jealous, more so when I am hunched in my little tent!
Well, between the two of us we know plenty enough to make a trip of it. I do not get long weekends or anything much at this point, so might I suggest a Friday meet/camp spot near where we’d be going, it can be on the edge of remote, and then a Saturday filled with going someplace and camping. Sunday the slow roll back.
I wonder if some of the HF folk might like to set up at that high spot in Mengle Pass? Maybe?

When you set a date for the trip, let us know and what frequencies you want to try.

Re: Death Valley Event?
March is a pretty busy month for me, with trips each weekend, but if it turns out to be april, I will try and get gas money
