Well I don't need to worry about any skiing accidents this year. I took a little fall riding my dual sport motorcycle on the street last weekend and tore the meniscus in my left knee so skiing is out for this season. On the positive side, it will probably prevent me from doing anything worse before the trip .

I expect to be OK for the trip but I'll have to wait and see if any hiking will be in the picture. I have an appointment for an MRI this evening so I'll know more after that. Right now I'm home in bed keeping my leg elevated. Fortunately I can put weight on the leg so I can hobble around OK. Its a good thing the Tacoma is a automatic. Driving anything with a clutch right now wouldn't be impossible but it would be painful.

Now I have the time thats been eluding me to study for my ham license upgrade

Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the Utah and Arizona trip. If anyone is waiting to join the trip this will open up a slot and they can get in on the early stages of trip planning.

We are new to this but very interested. We live in Florida and plan to be ready to go by mid April. We have a Chinook Baja 4WD rig so should be ok unless you plan to do some rock climbing. Please include us on the list and let us know what we can do. Thanks.

Welcome.

We won't be doing any serious rock crawling but there will be some narrow and rocky trails. Clearance will be one of your best assets along with good undercarriage protection and rock rails. I'm not too familiar with the Chinook Baja 4wd, but from what little I have seen, there seems to be a lot of plastic cladding, air dams, etc. If this is true for your vehicle, it may be damaged on some of the trails.

Tell us a little about your rig. Otherwise, check out the other planning threads here and that should give you a pretty good idea of whats going on.
