FNG here in Palos Verdes, CA

Post by edzz » Sun Mar 11, 2012 10:32 pm

The never-ending project, my 710K Pinzgauer is currently getting its APRS upgrade, at present I’m trying to figure out what my best bet for mapping software would be on a Panasonic CF-28.

Ed:

Welcome aboard.

Since you will be at the Meet & Greet, you'll have a chance to see several rigs that are running different mapping programs and APRS, using ruggedized laptops.

We have a section (viewforum.php?f=124) devoted to APRS and you should be able to pick up some good information and tips there.

Welcome to OAUSA, Ed !!!

I currently run UI View 32 APRS software on a Toughbook CF-30, and used it on a previous CF-29. When used in conjunction with Precision Maps 9.0 (or earlier editions as well), you get full moving map capability, messaging, and many types of third party add-ons for the UI-View software. The software is free by mandate of the estate of the SK programmer, and it has a large following of dedicated users worldwide - check out UI-VIEW 32 for more info.

I'll be happy to show you my system in operation at the M&G - and I look forward to meeting you and your Pinz there...
