Lil bit of Moab fire roading

Post by aw12345 » Sat May 05, 2012 9:27 am

Just got back from my little fire roading trip., This is the first time my little put put Jeep out wheeled my friends Jeep by a pretty big margin. Every spot he struggled my toy would just walk up it like it was dealing with a speed bump. Amazing what a difference 8" of more wheelbase and red label krawlers versus blue label krawlers makes. My bud knows how to krawl and how to pick a good line, but the tires just would not stick. Mine would walk up ledges without chirping a single tire and his would just spin.
Anyway enough of that I had a blast, drove all of Pritchet without winching or stacking a single rock, I just wished it had more of the same, the fun was over to quickly. Next day we did Poison spider and Golden Spike where my bud broke his drive shaft so with a bit of tugging and winching we got him back to town, then patched the drive shaft back together. So we could do Metal masher which has a few fun challenges that look harder then they are.
Still fun though had to literally push my buddy Fred up widow maker after I drove over the thing like it was a minor bump in the road.
In the afternoon we tooled around hells revenge, always fun, drove Hells Gate, Escalator and tip over challenge without a spotter that was pretty cool. Especially Escalator about laid my baby on it's side than backed out of it and climbed out the top like it was nobody's business. fun stuff eh.
Oh well just got back 12 hour drive and 770 miles later the adventure is done. Here is a link to the few pics I took, nothing of my baby though, just my friend's when since we spend most of the time getting him up and over stuff.
