Hi from West LA

Post by SWbySWesty » Mon Jun 11, 2012 11:22 am

Hi guys, I'm Garrett from West LA. I'm an avid camper, used to do the rock crawling, but drifted to the 4x4 vans and camping arena (I guess expo). I bring along a dirt bike to keep up! I attached a picture of me and my vehicle. Cruiserlarry told me about the Big Bear HAM event a year or two ago and I keep meaning to make it! My design is to be self-sufficient on trips and I prefer dry camping; the more remote the better! Don't camp next to me if you have a generator. I have a Yaesu handheld HAM for which I look forward to getting a call sign!

Hey, Garrett, glad you finally made it on to OAUSA !!!

I hope you are able to make it up to Big Bear this year, but be warned - we will be using generators in the main camp to run all the radio gear for the Field Day activities...

haha - I understand your generator use, but I don't understand the giant RVs running them until 10pm or midnight in the bush. Then again, I'm not retired nor do I have kids to cater to...looking forward to a great trip, but walking isn't looking so hot right now. :(

Welcome to the site, Garrett. Hopefully we'll see you out on a run or event sometime. Along with SummerFest, we also have BorregoFest in October.
