That was the point of my post. It seemed to discourage becoming a VE unless you were already a general. I think it simply adds emphasis on upgrading your own license class to serve in maximum capability.

There are many functions to be served in a testing session that can be learned as you go through the process.

I didn't see Jon's post until just now. He is correct - a General VE can only test for the Tech level. This fact makes it even more important that we not limit our testing by excluding all those who seek an upgrade to General or Extra.

As you know, it was not my intent to discourage anyone from becoming a VE, but to make sure that OAUSA carries through with our promise to offer all levels of testing when we hold our 4 annual events or our offer to assist other organizations. With an emphasis on becoming an Extra VE, we will continually be able to give our members and others the benefit of a full range of tests.

That's too funny... Our planned location for our M&G on August 18th is Fiesta Island. They could walk over to our area and take their test if they do it on the same weekend.

I've talked to Mc Taco. We're actually holding a joint event. I've posted details on our site in the Sponsored Events section and the Expo thread as well. This will be a great gathering.
