Bruce:
Thanks for the offer. We'll take:
1. pop-up
2. tables
I don't know about a coffee urn, but I have a coffee pot and we can keep it going all night long, if needed. And when you said that you would not be operating the radios, you meant, you wouldn't be operating them ALL night long, right?

Re: Field Day Planning
Thanks everyone for your equipment offers. We are definitely getting closer to having everything we need. There are still a few areas where we are a little short:
1. Generator. We have one 2k watt, but another one would give us a more comfortable margin of power, especially with 5 radios working at the same time. It would also be nice to have a backup in the event that this one goes down.
2. Here are the Band Captain assignments:
Larry - 20
SteeevO - 40
Hector - 80
15 - Tim
10 - Ollie
3. Popups. We need 2 or 3 more
4. Tables. We could use about 2-3 more
5. Coax. All we can get, with connectors, of course.
6. Headphones - for the specific radios we are using.

Re: Field Day Planning
Larry and I plan on being there somewhere around 9:00AM on Friday. Tune into the Frazier repeater when you get within range.

Re: Field Day Planning
I'm hoping to get out there in the afternoon around 2.
I noticed you posted info for a 440 repeater up there, do you know if that one is linked to the 147.7650- repeater?
and would it be better to use the 2m repeater?

Don't know, but if you have any info, let us know. We will also be monitoring simplex 145.570.
Also, any word on your pop-ups?

Re: Field Day Planning
I just text salad man.. hopefully ill hear back on those by morning.
Simplex from San Jacinto?
I will be attempting to hike to the summit of San Jacinto Peak (10,800 ft) on Sunday afternoon and thought it might be fun to try to contact you guys. I have a 5W HT (FT-60) with a pretty decent antenna that I've used to make some pretty long (~100 mile) simplex contacts with before from much lower elevation. Would it be best to try to contact you on the repeater first and then switch over to a simplex frequency? I'm actually attempting a SOTA (Summits On the Air) activation so I need to get at least 4 simplex contacts. Not sure if you guys would get any extra points for Field Day, but it might be fun.
