One of the topics that we will cover this week is a relatively new threat here in the west that seems to appear in areas where fires have disturbed the soil. The Poodle Dog Bush, aka, Turricula is a fire follower, meaning that it appears following fires. As everyone knows, the western US has been experiencing abnormally dry conditions, leading to a greater than average number of fires. The aftermath of these fires has seen an increase in the number of Poodle Dog plants and adverse reactions to those who touch the plant or are exposed to it. Reactions to the plant are similar to poison oak and can include symptoms such as swelling, itching, blistering and rash, sometimes lasting as much as two weeks.

More information is available here:

Hey Dave: I promised you I would post for the Internet Vendor "RESCUE ESSENTIALS" out of Colorado.
I have had great luck with them and have been a customer for several years.

Rescue Essentials offerings are: flat rate $5 shipping, and once or twice a year they usually run a free shipping promotion.
They have many sales.

Not only does Rescue Essentials have lots of offerings, but they work with many of the more popular manufacturers like: NAR, SAM, QuickClot, Celox, OLE, Beacon, and H&H.

Rescue essentials is a GSA contract supplier to the US BORDER PATROL, US DEPT. Of STATE, and other agencies. Rescue Essentials also works closely with the Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS and they have many different kits available that are both comprehensive in purpose, function and design.

So check them out!

I like Rescue Essentials because their prices are right, I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for things, I don't have to buy large quantities for a good price, and they offer flat rate shipping of quality medical supplies.

Good luck!
