If you come up on Fri, let me know and we can run trails Fri as well as Sat. What everyone has to remember is that TTORA is having an event this same weekend and the FJ cruiser forum is trying to set up a run for the same time. It could get very crowded. The trails I am familiar with and would like to run are gold mtn-3n69. I generally enter off the 18 go west to 3n16. It is a moderate trail. If you turn right on 3n16 and go a short ways you will go to Jacoby canyon trail, 3n61. It is a shorter trail, but pretty and it is an easy trail. You end up on the 18. I enjoy going to burnt flat, a nice run with incredible views and a few moderate spots--3n02. Then when coming back up you go west on 3n10 which is John Bull, or the intro to Bull. It is moderate. You then come to the intersection of 3n32 and 3n10. Go south on 3n32 takes you back to 3n16-the major easy east-west road. Keep on 3n10 and this is the John Bull run, It is difficult. I am also familiar with trails on the south side, which are on the easy side. We can try trails further west, except some are closed due to the fire. I don't know if Holcomb creek is open.

I know the area pretty well so I am happy to hit any trail that sparks your fancy. I was up there two weeks ago and I will be there next week as well. If I had to guess which trail will get backed up, it would be John Bull. You have my number, feel free to call me.

Regards, Steve
Thanks!

Let me digest all of this and I'll let you know. I still dont have sliders so I am leary of John Bull.

Just wanted to say that unfortunately Kari and I will be missing you guys this trip. We will be leaving for a cruise with my family on the 22nd. Oh well we will try to have a good time without you all, :( Would love to go next time though, one of the areas I have never wheeled.

With good reason, I'd say. While I'll defer to Gon2Srf, the resident John bull trail expert, IMO you should have sliders before tackling JB. Plenty of great trails out in Big Bear, and John Bull is among the roughest on the mountain....

I don't know Chris, it's a tough choice - hang out on a mountain in a tent for a couple of days, or go on a cruise with the family.... :o

I love to hit the trails, but if I had a cruise option, I'd be gone, too.... :D

Enjoy the cruise Chris! I am still looking forward to going on my first cruise. Even if it's to Mexico where the crime rate has more than doubled in the last 6 months. See you when you get back!

Well, it looks like I will be working friday after all, as my boss will be out of town.

So, early saturday morning is when we will hit the road.
